The Best and Cheapest time to buy Airline Tickets

Eva Air has a Hello Kitty airplane! How awesome!!
I read once in a magazine article that Airlines make money by anticipating buying habits. I also saw somewhere that whenever you try searching for tickets you should go to incognito mode ( Google's CTRL+SHIFT N) So that other sites would not have any idea of the prices that you have already researched from other sites.

Economist Makoto Watanabe says 8 weeks out is the best time to buy, while most
Airline says 6 weeks out is the best time to buy. Regardless of their study, as a consumer we need to be very vigilant with the fluctuating prices. Prices change up to 3 times a day! Then, obviously Sunday being a weekend, it's always the most expensive day whether you buy a movie ticket or a dinner lunch buffet! Next, Sign up, sign up, sign up for e-mail alerts, it is very important as travel sites sometimes will conduct promotions and offer great deals and sometimes this deal will only last for 24 hours so you would not want to miss that! Lastly, I agree with Mr. Watanabe said, I'll go for 8 weeks to buy a ticket, probably much more earlier most specially during the holidays, if you can plan 6 months ahead much better! In case the price drops later, most sites like Priceline will guarantee your purchase price and will return the excess amount that you paid months before. One more tip, they say the best day of the week to buy is Tuesday and Wednesday!
